Kidderminster Temple. Province of Worcestershire
Also incorporating the re-enactment of the Battle of Rourke’s Drift - ’11 VC’s before breakfast!’
Brethren,
We would be pleased to welcome you to our festival celebrating all that is excellent about Wales.
After ritual in our temple, our Festive Board starts with the St David’s Day Ceremony of the Leek, well known to the Royal Regiment of Wales and previously the Royal Welch Fusiliers.
After a sumptuous dinner of Welsh Lamb (alternatives available) for a remarkable sum of approx. £25.00 including cheese board and wine, we embark on the re-enactment of the famous battle named after the famous film ‘Zulu’, or is it the other way around? There will be letters from home, lots of frivolity, singing and finally the battle itself, complete with Zulu Warriors and South Wales Borderers/Warwickshire Regiments. We have projectiles to fire and very understanding cleaners.
After the battle we welcome visitors in our inimitable way, in song of course!
We Tyle at 5.00 pm on Friday 25th February 2022. For those travelling from afar we will find nearby hotels that are fully open after the recent lockdowns. We will arrange transport to and from the lodge. We can also pick up Brethren from Kidderminster Station, 2 hours max from Euston London.
For those interested in visiting us and reserving a place please email Alan Dennett, Worshipful Master speleobod@yahoo.co.uk or by phone 07917 192492. Places are limited so early booking is necessary.
