TEDDIES for LOVING CARE (TLC) is a national charity, established by Freemasons, that donates cuddly teddies to various organisations in which a child may be experiencing severe anxiety.
In particular, hospital A&E Departments, where anxious children need a comfort to act as a distraction from their injury. Medical staff regularly report the amazing effect it has when a child is given a cuddly teddy for them to keep; thus immediately calming the child, who can then be more easily treated.
This initiative has been a total success from its inception in 2000 to the current day. In fact, 2025 reached the remarkable total of 4-million teddies donated to-date, country wide. Worcestershire alone has donated a total of 29,664 hospital teddies.
It is the responsibility of each Masonic Province to purchase the teddies, and to arrange delivery through their volunteer freemasons.
Each Province, through the generosity of their members, visitors, friends, relatives, fundraising events, raffles, collections and fundraising challenges combine to provide the funds necessary to ensure TLC continues its valuable contribution to the community.
