The Worcestershire Freemasons Volunteers (WFV) is a pioneering new service designed to aid the fraternity by enhancing our community engagement activities. The first of its kind throughout all 47 provinces in England & Wales, it has the endorsement of Sir David Wootton PDGM & 2nd Grand Principal, the Patronage of our Provincial Grand Master & Grand Superintendant Stephen Wyer and is led by our President Paul Wong AsstPGM.​
WFV will work closely with Worcestershire Freemasons Charity (WFC) to support our service commitments to charities and good causes in Worcestershire. Whilst the WFC will remain committed to the management of financial donations, WFV will support them by enabling our talented membership to donate their time, knowledge and skills.

How does the service work?
The service is designed to give all brethren & companions a place to start when looking to get involved in volunteering. There are 3 aspects to the service.
Memberships – In order to get involved, first you must become a member. You can register for free or become an ambassador. For a small fee ambassadors get lots of perks and become a driving force behind our development as a service.
Large scale events – our registered members will be able to sign up to volunteer in various roles at our large-scale events. We hope that this will put us on the map as a province and gain media exposure as we attempt to drive the service forward
Database – members details will be added to a database along with their skills and as we develop our charity partnerships, we will be able to match positions with qualified members to fulfil the needs of charities

Our first big event to showcase this new collaboration is planned for Sunday 30th November 2025 where we will support MIND with their “Mental Elf 2025” fun run in Kidderminster. This event allows participants to run, jog, walk, use walking aids, wheelchairs and even take their pets along, to complete a friendly 5km route. MIND is a national mental health charity with over 25 million people per year accessing their services. Their Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire branch requires both financial donations and volunteers to facilitate the event this year. WFC will be donating £1000 and WFV will be providing the volunteers to steward the event on the day. This will be a great showing of Freemasonry’s SERVICE in action, in our community.
To get involved you will need to become a member. This is to ensure that everyone’s health and safety can be assured, insurance is in place and any appropriate safeguarding measures are thoroughly adhered to.

WFV plans on offering its members quarterly large scale volunteering events, travelling to all parts of the province. Our members will be critical in the project management of these events, whilst helping us build long term partnerships with the charities and good causes that we work with. Members will also be able to bring family, friends and prospective candidates along to events with them. This service is all about showcasing the great work we do in our local communities.​

To support this we will be offering two membership options.

Option 1 - FREE MEMBERSHIP allows Worcestershire Freemasons to sign up to join the service. You will be registered with the service, receive updates and events details, have use of communal PPE at events, single issue ID cards, electronic handbook and ability to buy branded merchandise.

Option 2 – AMBASSADOR MEMBERSHIP involves a one off fee of £25 that has a host of benefits.

exclusive AMBASSADOR MEMBER lapel pin badge to wear at craft & chapter meetings,

vote at the AGM, and more.

If you really want to be an integral part of this new service we see AMBASSADOR MEMBERSHIP being a way to help shape the service by leading from the front, becoming a representative or project manager and guiding our future activities. FREE MEMBERSHIP is a great option to register for events, turn up on the day and still “do your bit”. This service needs both types of members, particularly as we grow the scale of our events as we work towards engagement with the Invictus games in 2027.

We want this service to be available to all so there is no requirement to upgrade your Membership, you can choose the membership that works for you.
