Avon Lodge Sets The Future Tone

Brethren of Avon Lodge no. 3569 enjoyed a remarkable Installation ceremony on Monday evening, 9th February. Not just because the ceremony was conducted in a word-perfect way by Installing Master, W. Bro. Lt. Col. Vincent Maher MBE, but that the ceremony took place at all.
That’s because, back in 2012, the Lodge had so few members that the Brethren were considering surrendering their Warrant. Instead, they set their minds on growing the Lodge. Visitors on that Monday night could not have been more impressed by the line-up of ‘light blues’ re-entering the Lodge, followed by three Entered Apprentices, to learn that W. Bro. Alan Keegan - who was also word-perfect - had been made their new Master during their absence from the Board of Installed Masters.
Visitors, of course, included the Provincial Team, led by Assistant Provincial Grand Master W. Bro. Del Padmore, Provincial Wardens W. Bros. Paul Webber (who is also Provincial Communications Officer) and W. Bro Chris Overall, while the excellent DC was W. Bro. Can Ogan. During the Festive Board, attended by almost 40 Brethren, the APGM reflected the mood, congratulating the Lodge on the outstanding way they had conducted the ceremony and on its obvious good health.
During the evening, it was learned that there are four candidates in the pipeline. If there was ever an endorsement for Pathway, then this was a shining example. Avon Lodge is in a very good place, and its future is surely assured.
