A new Volunteering opportunity is available, to help Mary Steven’s Hospice and Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust with their Christmas Tree-Cycle activity.
Christmas Tree-cycle is a fundraising activity that involves collecting used Christmas trees for a donation. They are then chipped and sustainably recycled for use at garden centres, West Midlands safari park and turned into heat logs.
Enterprise donate the vans, tree surgeons donate chippers and they require volunteers to do the collecting. That’s where we come in.
The activity involves turning up on the day at 9am, being allocated a van, usually in groups of 2/3, being given a route and collecting trees, then dropping them off at a yard. It can be reasonably strenuous work so should only be undertaken by those who are fit enough for a days manual labour. Crews and routes will be allocated on the day, each day.
We will be supporting these 2 charities over 4 days (8th, 10th. 11th and 12th January) One charity in Stourbridge and one in Worcester.
